Katie Got Bandz sat down with DJ Pharris of Chicago Power 92 to give her thoughts on the violence plaguing her hometown.
Katie says drill music itself has nothing do with the violence, but diss tracks are correlated.
“In my opinion, the killing in Chiraq been going on since before I even got in to drill music,” she said. “The crime rate is increasing because the music is making people wanna go after one another from disrespecting each other’s dead mans or dead homies or whatever you wanna call it.”
Katie went on to distinguish battle records from these type of records.
“It’s not even necessarily battle rap because if it’s a battle rap you gon go back and forth with a song,” she explained. “They in war and they using music as one of they weapons.”
Katie went on to promote the stop the violence campaign, telling listeners to “put the guns” and “pick up a mic.”
Katie recently dropped her latest mixtape “Drillary Clinton 2.” It is now available for download.
