Lil Bibby Responds To ‘Dark Butt’ Controversy: ‘I Love Em Dark Too, But I Would Prefer Kim Kardashian Any Day’

Lil Bibby found himself on the receiving end of intense backlash following controversial statements made regarding darker toned sistas during an interview with Houston Hip Hop Fix.

Bibby sort of attempted to backtrack on statements made Wednesday on Twitter.

“I love em dark to… But I would prefer Kim K any day and you would to Don’t lie!!!” he wrote.

Bibby’s Kim Kardashian reference again stirred the pot.

Bibby’s statements were made when describing the type of women he’d like to dance for him in a strip club. The women had to be bad, light skinned, red bone complexioned and have real hair.

“Who got the baddest,” Bibby asked. “I need light skin, redbone. We don’t need no lace fronts and dark butts. We don’t mess with that.”

“I don’t want no fat hoes,” he added.

“I like a light skin, thick,” he continued. “If she thick, she can have a little stomach but not too much man.”

Lil Bibby’s comments raise a controversial issue in the black community- colorism.

Colorism, a result of slavery, is a form of prejudice or discrimination in which human beings are treated differently based on a certain skin tone. In the United States’ case, those with lighter skin are treated better. Furthermore, a Eurocentric standard of beauty exists based on skin shade.
