Lil Bibby is currently one of three Chicago MCs gunning for a spot on XXL magazine’s highly touted freshman list.

The “Free Crack” rapper said his unique sound makes him a top candidate for the list in his pitch for Freshman 2014.

“I don’t hear no music that sound like mine,” Lil Bibby said.

The East Side native went on to detail words Hip Hop superstar Drake exchanged with him through social media regarding his music.

“I was in the process of making my mixtape and Drake just hit me out the blue one day…he DM’d me like ‘The streets really need that tape…I’m waiting on it…you the future,’” Bibby recalled.
