Lil Bibby wants a southern and R&B feel on a few songs on his upcoming EP titled “The Book.”
The East Side native spoke with Vibe regarding potential features for the project, which included Trae The Truth and Keyshia Cole.
It’s not confirmed yet whether Bibby will secure the vocals of Miss Cole, but the “Free Crack” rapper has already laid down a track with Trae.
Bibby leaked a short snippet of the single online in February where he raps, “Sick with it, throw up/Bibby got his dough up/Soon as you grow up, n****s wanna show up/I do this s**t for real with my youngins from the Ville/Say the word, get em killed…”
Bibby is hard at work in the studio putting together his EP.
“I’m like four songs in,” Bibby told XXL. “I got four or five songs, and I’m tryna put eight joints on there. Seven or eight. I’m really thinking about that.”
The lead single to this project, according to Bibby, will be titled “Dead Or In Prison.”
The title of his debut EP was suggested by a fan on Twitter, Bibby recalls.
“I went to Twitter and I asked somebody for help with the titled, and they came up with ‘The Book Of Bibby,’ and I was just thinking like ‘Why don’t I just name it ‘The Book,’” the “Bibby Story” rapper said.
Bibby is looking to release the project right before summer.
“…EP will probably be out in six weeks, six to eight weeks,” he said.
