Lil Wayne Denies Lean Was The Cause Of Seizure In Chicago

Lil Wayne is out of the hospital after suffering a scare with his most recent epileptic episode in a hotel room in Chicago.

Sources close to Weezy are denying his seizures were the result of the rapper drinking lean. The seizures, they said, were due to Young Money boss having a busy schedule and not getting enough sleep.

Wayne’s doctor advised him to rest for two weeks.

Wayne was scheduled to perform at Drai’s Beachclub last Sunday alongside Rae Sremmurd in Las Vegas, but the show was ultimately cancelled.

Drai’s Beachclub Nightclub confirmed the show’s cancellation on it Facebook page Sunday night:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances Lil Wayne will be canceling his previously scheduled performance tonight at Drai’s Nightclub located at the Cromwell Hotel. In lieu of his absence T.I. will be performing in his place alongside DJ Franzen for another installment of Sundrais.

Lil Wayne and the entire Young Money / Maverick team are valued partners and members of the Drai’s LIVE family. Our priority is the health and well-being of our artists. Everyone at Drai’s wishes Lil Wayne a speedy recovery during this time.”

Wayne’s daughter, Reginae Carter, took to Twitter say her father was fine.

“My dad is doing fine everyone! Thanks for the concerns. You guys are amazing.

“Oh yeah .. & don’t believe everything you hear,” she wrote.

Weezy suffered two seizures after boarding his private jet in June 2016. Weezy was reportedly flying from Milwaukee to California when he had to make an emergency landing in Nebraska after suffering his first seizure. Wayne refused treatment when paramedics arrived on the scene. He then boarded his flight for a second time, but a second seizure prompted another emergency landing. Wayne was unconscious when paramedics treated him. He was then transported to a hospital by an ambulance.

TMZ initially reported Lil Wayne’s seizures might’ve been the result of guzzling Lean hours before his episode.

Wayne was seen with five 16 oz bottles of Promethazine/Codeine syrup during his club appearance in Milwaukee. An onlooker told TMZ Wayne consumed three bottles by himself.

Lil Wayne was rushed to the hospital in March 2013 after suffering multiple seizures.

Dr. George Fallieras, an emergency room physician and hospitalist at Good Samaritan Hospital, said codeine is an “opiate” and is in the “same family of drugs as h—– and morphine,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

Fallieras commented codeine addiction is the same as h—– addiction, only without the needles. This is due to the large amounts of codeine Lean drinkers induce.

He further said it is difficult to overcome Lean addiction and likened codeine withdrawal to the worst flu possible.

“One patient said to me, ‘Imagine the worst flu when you’re shivering, you’re vomiting, you can’t eat, you have diarrhea, every atom in your body hurts, you can’t sleep, you lie on the floor just shivering … and multiply that times a million,’” Fallieras told the Times. “And you know if you can just take the pill or inject yourself with h—–, that it just all goes away.”

Lil Wayne hopes for a speedy recovery as he is scheduled to perform on Sept. 17 at the Paid Dues Festival in LA.
