Man Gropes Amanda Berry Onstage at Roverfest Nelly Performance in Cleveland

Amanda Berry surprised many after making her first public appearance during the RoverFest concert in downtown Cleveland, OH.

Concert act Nelly brought the shock factor up a notch after inviting Berry onstage during a performance.

But even more questionable during the performance was an unidentifiable man kissing and fondling the rape victim.

Berry is currently recovering from the assault and sexual trauma she endured for a decade.

Her captor, 53-year-old Ariel Castro, even fathered a child with the young woman.

Nelly commented on his decision to bring the 27-year-old woman onstage during an interview with MTV News.

“After we took pictures with everybody else, we had a chance to sit down and talk,” the “Country Grammar” rapper said. “I just told how it was a pleasure for me to meet her. I asked her if she wanted to hang around, her and her family were more than welcome to come up on the stage. I just wanted to make sure we had the chance to acknowledge her.

Nelly wasn’t too sure of how to conduct his demeanor around Berry.

“When you kind of meet someone who’s been through something as traumatic as that, you kind of really don’t know what to say or how to act… You know, it’s one of those situations where you follow their lead with things. You kind of just let them know that you’re there. It’s like when she smiled, we smiled.”

Nelly brought Berry onstage during his “Just A Dream” performance.

“When we brought her up to do “Just A Dream,” I just wanted to Cleveland to know that we were proud of her and that the strength and the pulse of the city is built around the people,” he continued. “To see her survive that was amazing. It inspired me to do anything. To bring her up, I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal, but she had great time.”

Berry and two women, Michelle Knight and Gina DeJesus, made national headlines after they were found by their rescuer Charles Ramsey.

Castro pled guilty to 937 counts of criminal behavior and was sentenced to life in prison.
