Mother Accuses Hospital of Letting Son Bleed To Death At Entrance

A Vallejo, CA mother is grieving the loss of her son who succumbed to gun violence.

Sonya Mitchell is upset with Sutter Solano Medical Center’s medical staff’s delayed response in admitting her son. Sonya has accused the hospital of letting her son bleed to death at the entrance, KRON 4 reports.

Sonya posted video of hospital staff’s lack of urgency when admitting her son who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Sadly, her 23-year-old son Damon “Dada” Ferguson didn’t make it.

Sonya told KRON 4 she waited for more than a half hour for an ambulance to arrive before rushing her son to the hospital herself.

“I will never ever see him again. I would’ve at least kissed him goodbye,” Sonya Mitchell said.

Vallejo City Councilmember Hakeem Brown was reportedly upset after seeing Sonya’s video on Facebook and contacted the EMS company “Medic Ambulance” for answers.

“It’s heartbreaking, but at the same time if your aiding a mother who’s basically living a nightmare, also being treated so callously, we don’t want to see that in our community, that hurts,” Brown said.

Brown tells us one medic was placed on unpaid leave as an investigation is underway.

A medic can be heard in Sonya’s video, saying, “If you would’ve called 911,” which infuriated the frantic mother.

For Mitchell the pain is still raw. She says she wishes she would’ve embraced “Dada” one last time before he passed away.

“I will never ever see him again. I would’ve at least kissed him goodbye,” Mitchell said.
Sonya is considering possible legal action against Medic Ambulance.
