Nicki Minaj got the blogs and social media talking with speculation there’s trouble in paradise between herself and Meek Mill after telling Ellen DeGeneres she considers herself single.
Nicki has since taken to IG to clarify her comments.
He caption read, “#They don’t want me to write this caption. Cc @djkhaled ~ It would be very remiss of you to not watch what I said about Valentines Day prior to writing or believing a headline about my comment. I’m not single. Thank you for coming out. Have a blessed day and get some D.”
Nicki told Ellen the diamond ring Meek Mill gifted her with was not an “engagement ring.”
“I have two rings from this boy who likes me,” she said. “He said that that’s my second ring and if I get a third ring that that would be the engagement ring.”
Nicki Minaj says she’s unsure if she wants to get married.
“We’re still figuring each other out,” she said. “In fact, I don’t even want to say I’m in a relationship anymore cause I think when people hear that, they go to a mean place. I used to say I’m not in a relationship even though I was in a 12-year relationship. Then now, [I’m] just going back to that and saying I’m single.”
Nicki went on to dispute rumors of her and Meek breaking up on Valentine’s Day due to not posting gifts from him onto IG.
Nicki said she and Meek spent the whole day in bed together.
“It just made me realize, no matter how great your life is, you can’t even impress people. You just have to do you and make yourself happy,” she said. “And forget trying to get everyone’s approval. It’s better to just keep those things sacred. So now, I don’t really care to say I’m in a relationship. There’s a boy that likes me, that’s all.” She continued: “He and I are just two souls right now passing through the universe and I don’t know what’s going to happen and I have learned over the years to just let things be and come and go.”
