David Rankine, a 21-year-old senior studying Aeronautical Engineering, lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 65 on May 16 causing brain and back trauma and several broken bones.

The New Jersey native is known as “Jersey” to his fraternity brothers. The Alpha Phi Alpha chapter at Purdue University is selling t-shirts to raise money Rankine and his family, WLFI 18 reports.

The message “Do it For Jersey!” and a space helmet adorn the front of the t-shirts. The shirts have reportedly generated more than $11,000 for his family.

Johnathan Blair, president of Alpha Phi Alpha at Purdue, told WLFI 18 the chapter was going to “be there for him so that he continues to push and continues to stay on track for recovery.”
