Smylez Preps New Project ‘6916’

Smylez is planning for his upcoming mixtape to be an event. The Chi Town double threat took to social media to announce his fourth project “6916.”

“My New Project “6916” Is About To Be Epic Sh-t Sound Like A Album. I Told The Truth And Kept It 100 Form Track 1 – 17,” The South Side producer and rapper wrote on Twitter.

Smylez explained the inspiration behind his upcoming project in a spirited IG post. The longtime 069 native regards himself as one of the driving forces behind Chiraq’s burgeoning Hip Hop movement.

“Come on Na, when y’all gone realize Smylez can take y’all to the top,” he boasts. “… I turned everybody around me from my hood into stars from music to beats! …Look how many hit songs I put out and produced. Look how far I came, look what I did for my city with a computer and a mic. How many more hits I gotta drop for y’all to give me my crown? When y’all gone realize I’m a young legend in the flesh?”

Smylez also promised to give back to his community upon his success in the music game in his note.

“…I promise when y’all give me my crown Ima fix this sh-t, Ima fix my city, on my auntie grave,” he wrote.

Smylez’s title has special meaning as it’s his 69th address.

Smylez’s forthcoming project doesn’t have a set release date at this time, but is expected to drop soon.
