Spike Lee To Film Movie In Chicago Called ‘Chiraq,’ Will Feature Kanye West, Common and Samuel L. Jackson

Legendary filmmaker Spike Lee is filming his next movie in Chicago. The title of Lee’s upcoming project is “Chiraq,” according to The Wrap. The term “Chiraq” combines words “Chicago” and “Iraq.” The City has been dubbed “Chiraq” due to its high murder rate and gun violence.

Lee has reportedly tapped Kanye West, Common, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Piven to appear in the film.

The Oscar-nominated filmmaker has been in the City conducting research for the film and has met with many community leaders. The “Bamboozled” director recently met Chi Town’s own Prince Eazy who discussed the perils of his hometown in the form of rhymes.

Further details surrounding the film are being kept under wraps.
