Two Suspects Charged In Simeon Graduate Demarius Reed’s Murder At Eastern Michigan University

Police have nabbed two Detroit men suspected in having a role in the murder of Eastern Michigan football player Demarius Reed, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Ed Jemeal Thomas and Kristopher Kaivon Pratt, both 20, are accused of accosting Reed in a Oct. 18 robbery attempt and fatally shooting him in his apartment complex. He was 21.

Thomas and Pratt were arrested separately in different counties. Thomas is being held without bail in the Washtenaw County Jail in Ann Arbor. Pratt is being held in Wayne County Jail in Detroit.

Reed was a 2010 graduate of Simeon Career Academy.

Reed was a starting wide receiver for Eastern Michigan University. He played six game this season and was the fourth-leading receiver with 15 caches for 185 yards and a touchdown, according to Michigan Live.

Reed majored in Communication, Media and Theatre Arts.
