War Vet Suspected in Sikh Temple Shooting

Wade Michael Page

On the heels of devastation executed during Dark Knight Massacre, another shooting took place at Sikh temple in Milwaukee Sunday morning.

The Sikh temple shooting is being labeled as a “domestic terrorist-type of incident.” The shooting left at least seven people dead, including the gunman.

Three people were wounded and in critical condition at Milwaukee’s Froedtert Hospital, spokeswoman Carolyn Bellin told CNN.

One of the wounded was the first officer to the scene. Another officer killed the suspect of the shooting by returning fire, explained CNN.

One man told the CNN affiliate WTMJ “nobody’s angry here. We’re just confused. Was this a random act? Was this directed at us because of the way we look?”

The gunman has been identified as 40-year-old Army Veteran Wade Michael Page. Page was discharged from the army in 1998 because of patterns of misconduct, said CNN.

It has been confirmed that the shooter was wearing a white T-shirt, a drastic difference from the gear of the “the Joker.”

It is also believed that Page may have been a skinhead, though it hasn’t been confirmed.

Sikh men are often confused with Muslims due to customary beards and turbans, according to CNN.

They have been the targets of hate crime since the September 11 attacks.
