Will Smith appeared on the David Letterman show and discussed the infamous slap he gave to a reporter who got too close.
“We’re doing an interview,” Smith said. “He says I’m a reporter and I’m your biggest fan can I have a hug please. So I go to give this joker a hug and he tries to lean in to kiss me.”
The Men in Black 3 star told Letterman “it’s just awkward Dave!” to laughter from the audience.
Letterman asked the Philly native what kind of journalist kisses an interviewee.
Smith replied, “They were saying they were sorry, it’s just his schtick and I said that’s why his ass got schtuck.”
