YNW Melly was arrested earlier today on two misdemeanor drug charges, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
The South Florida rapper, whose real name is Jamell Maurice Demons, faces one count of possession of marijuana not more than 20 grams and possession and/or use of drug equipment.
Melly was booked into the Lee County Jail in Florida early Thursday morning.
Melly delivered a message to fans stating he’d be a free man soon. The post featured his mugshot with a caption, reading, “Free Melvin. I’ll be out before my tour.”
