YNW Melly is accused of shooting two friends dead, and attempting to cover it up.
YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, 19, was arrested and charged with two count of first-degree murder in connection with the October 2018 shooting deaths of YNW Juvy and YNW Sackchaser, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
Melly is the second suspect charged in the slayings. YNW Bortlen, whose real name is Cortlen Henry, was also charged in the murders. Henry, 20, faces two counts of first-degree murder.
YNW Juvy, real name Christopher Thomas Jr., and Anthony Williams, real name YNW Sackchaser, were shot to death on Oct. 26, 2018. They were driven in a Jeep Compass at 4:35 a.m. to Memorial Hospital Miramar where they were pronounced dead.
Henry was the driver of the jeep. Police say Melly was the one who shot and killed the two men.
Police say Melly and Henry staged the crime scene – the Jeep Compass – to make it look like a drive-by shooting had taken place.
Investigators say Henry’s statement given to police didn’t match evidence they discovered. Henry was arrested in Houston last month, and extradited to Broward County on Tuesday.
