21 Savage is set to be deported from the United States. The Atlanta rapper was picked up by ICE and taken into custody.
He has reportedly entered U.S. legally in 2005.
21 is being held for removal proceedings due to being in the county illegally and for being a felon. He was reportedly convicted of drug charges in 2014.
21 Savage’s attorney, Dina LaPolt, told TMZ, “We are working diligently to got Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding. Mr. Abraham-Joseph is a role model to the young people in the country — especially in Atlanta, Georgia and is actively working in the community leading programs to help underprivileged youths in financial literacy.”
