Cdai Issues Statement From Jail In Phone Call With Edai

Cdai is in good spirits in Cook County Jail. The South Side Chicago rap star and RondoNumbaNine are currently charged with first-degree murder in the Feb. 22 shooting death of cab driver Javan Boyd.

Edai recently chopped it up with his 600 brother in a jailhouse phone call.

“You already know, man. It’s yo boy 22,” he said. “You know how I’m rocking. ….I’ma be back down real soon.”

Edai previously proclaimed the Cdai and Rondo would soon be released from jail.

Edai said Cdai was going to beat his case in song “No Competition,” rapping, “Free Cdai, I tweet the sh-t/The lawyers say he gon beat the sh-t/Mubu n-ggas sneak diss on em, though I wasn’t gon peep that sh-t?”

Edai revealed in this track that prosecutors have four months to present evidence against Cdai.

“Tell lawyers to speed that up. They ain’t got no evidence,” he said. “They gotta come within 120 days with some evidence. Bronem gon beat that sh-t. Free Cdai, free Rondo.”

Lil Durk stated Rondo was coming home in late April.

“Who said #9 wasn’t coming home #Rt so I can laugh and block y’all #may??” he wrote.

Prosecutors allege RondoNumbaNine, whose birth name is Clint Massey, and Cdai, born Courtney Ealy, were part of a three-car entourage riding through enemy territory looking for revenge due to an earlier altercation with an unnamed party, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Rondo and Cdai allegedly sighted Boyd sitting in his vehicle and pulled their vehicle alongside his.

The two 600 rappers allegedly went to Boyd’s passenger door and asked if he was from the neighborhood. When Boyd replied he was from the neighborhood, Rondo and Cdai opened the passenger door and opened fire, according to the Tribune.

Boyd was reportedly shot seven times in all, including, twice in the back and three times in the leg, according to the Sun Times.

Rondo and Cdai allegedly rushed back to their vehicle and all three vehicles fled the scene.

A portion of the crime was caught on surveillance camera, according to the Sun-Times. Rondo’s fingerprints were additionally found on the cab, according to the Tribune.
