Chicago Hip Hop Community Donate Turkeys For Thanksgiving



The Chicago Hip Hop community possessed a charitable spirit this holiday season. A slew of artists dedicated resources to make sure no one went hungry during this Thanksgiving holiday.

Chella H, on behalf of Mermaid Mafia LLC, worked in collaboration with Dough Street Ent and Chicago King Dave to hand out 500 turkeys Saturday on East 47th street.



The RBA frontwoman posted several images of their charitable endeavor to IG.

“Them turkeys left quick,” the captions on the photos read.



King L and his MUBU crew bought turkeys for families in need to enjoy with their Thanksgiving meals earlier this week.

“#MuBuGang #WhySoManyTurkeysGiveAway 2mma #StayTuned,” the caption on their IG post read.



King L posted footage of this to IG and said the birds would be going to impoverished families on the West Side of Chicago.

“…We just bought a lot of turkeys, though. We passing them out Out West,” he said.



Exclusive store handed out 1,000 turkeys with the assistance of many of the city’s renowned Hip Hop representatives, including Lupe Fiasco, Co-Still, King Louie, Young Chop, Katie Got Bandz, Twista, Matti Baybee and Lil Mouse.

Exclusive said a line stretched down the block for their charitable gesture.

“Already a line down the street. Thank you again Everyone who helped donate and spread the word there’s still time to donate noon-4 1000 will be passed out at @exclusive857,” the caption on their IG photo read.



Exclusive further thanked all those who assisted in making the event possible.

Co-Still helped donate 10 turkeys for Exclusive’s event.

“Me, @wickedechicago @sleepywicked just donated 10 turkeys for @exclusive773 1000 turkey thanxgiving,” he wrote



Young Chop collected turkeys himself for Exclusive and helped spread word on the event.

“I’m starting to collect turkeys tomorrow can u spread the word to drop them Off at exclusive or go on exclusive773.com to help donate,” he wrote.



Lil Mouse recalled the event as possessing a “great atmosphere” and thanked Exclusive and all supporters for making the turkey give away possible.

Mouse found the charitable event to be a great cause for his city and community.

“It feel good to be able to give back to my people who really need it. I will always give back,” Mouse said.
