Alberto “Alpo” Martinez is enjoying his freedom. The notorious Harlem druglord was recently spotted in the Bronx with his security.

Alpo was reportedly released from ADX Florence in 2015, according to Don Diva Mag.

Alpo can be seen in a photo that was taken after his release from prison.

Don Diva CEO Kevin Chiles spoke on his relationship with Alpo:

“We were all friends [Chiles, Porter, and Martinez]. Preceding him killing Rich we were all cool on the street. We hung out. We got money,” Chiles said in a statement. “The fact that he told on anyone is not okay for me, and there is nothing to discuss, but even if he didn’t tell, we still wouldn’t be good because he killed Rich. I’m not cool with how that went.”

Alpo is accused of murdering Rich in January 1990.

Alpo has not spoken directly to Chiles yet, but he sent word through a mutual friend in hopes that he could “set the record straight with him.”

Alpo is currently in the federal witness protection program awaiting his identity, The Source reports.

Alpo was portrayed as Rico by Cam’ron in the urban classic flick “Paid In Full.” Alpo, along with Azie “AZ” Faison and Rich Porter,” ran a million-dollar drug empire in Harlem in the 80s.

Alpo was arrested on Nov. 6, 1991 and hit with various drug charges that included murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Alpo couldn’t handle a life sentence or the possibility of a death sentence and later turned informant.

Don Diva reports Alpo’s biggest betrayal was snitching on his shooter Wayne “Silk” Perry. Perry was reportedly sentenced to five consecutive life sentences without parole to serve his time in federal prison. Alpo, for his cooperation, was sentenced to 35 years in prison- under federal witness protection.
