Lil’ Wayne Salutes Shaquille O’Neal As Los Angeles Lakers Retire No. 34 Jersey



Tuesday turned out to be a special day for former Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar Shaquille O’Neal. With countless fans, family and friends watching, O’Neal accepted the honor of having his No. 34 jersey retired alongside the Lakers’ organization’s best players, including, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and George Mikan.

The Hip Hop community also embraced Shaq.

Rap superstar Lil’ Wayne took to Twitter to Twitter to congratulate the “Diesel.”

“Salute to the Diesel!! #34,” he wrote.



O’Neal dedicated eight seasons to the Lakers, winning three NBA championships for the organization. Additionally, he captured three NBA Finals MVP awards.

As the NBA’s sixth leading scorer, Shaq can rest assure that his jersey now hangs in the rafters with fellow NBA legends.
