Ohio Infant Found Dead in Freezer

Cervantes, 18, and Pruitt, 20, charged
with child endangerment

A landlord in Toledo, OH found a dead infant in a deep freezer Friday, April 13 as he was cleaning a residence, Fox Toledo reports.

Antonio Cervantes, 18, and Kenisha Pruitt, 20, were arrested on charges of child endangerment.

James Tansey, a next-door neighbor, was shocked upon learning the discovery.

“You read it in the paper and hear you find out it’s next door,” Tansey told Fox Toledo. “You know it’s never going to happen to you, it’s your next door neighbor.”

If you don’t want the child, put it up for adoption, he added.

The couple was reportedly in the process of moving out of their home when the deceased infant was discovered.

Investigators are awaiting an official autopsy report.

Cervantes and Pruitt will be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.
