A 26-year-old University of Florida student committed suicide by jumping from an upper level stairwell in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Sunday evening, The Miami-Herald reports.

Michael Richard Edmonds Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene just after 7 p.m., University police spokesman Brad Barber told The Gainesville Sun.

The incident is currently under investigation.
