Wisconsin state senator Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) appeared on Fox New Talk Radio with Alan Colmes to discuss his proposed Senate Bill 507, which would consider single parenthood to be a contributing factor to child abuse. Grothman blamed the government for “pushing the single parenthood lifestyle” and said they are doing it with all the “benefit programs, which primarily benefit single motherhood.”

The parents of a former special needs student at an Atlanta high school are suing the district and 15 Fulton County public school employees for $10.5 million for the death of their son Aaron Hatcher. The lawsuit alleges Aaron, who died last March, suffered abuse by middle school and high school teachers.

State Senator Glenn Grothman has introduced a controversial bill targeting single parents in Wisconsin. The bill, introduced at the Senate Committee on Public Health, Human Services and Revenue public hearing, is called the Senate Bill 507. It will make illegal single parenthood and regard it as child abuse.
