Is the allure of a big recording contract with a major record label leading urban youth to an early grave? A family member of a slain 18-year-old Chicago rapper seems to think so.

Young men and women affiliated with Brick Squad, a faction of Gangster’s Disciples, took to the parking lot to celebrate the memory of their fallen friend. Many of the young people wore “RIP JOJO” T-shirts and flashed gang signs.
